Orange Shirt Day 2024
Orange Shirt Day 2024 is Monday, September 30. National Day of Remembrance of Indigenous Boarding Schools, or Orange Shirt Day, originated in Canada as a day to bring attention to the damage the residential school system did to Indigenous children, lifeways, and cultures.
The remembrance is also marked in the United States and its official theme is “Every Child Matters”, which resonates with our commitment as people of deep faith.
The Land Acknowledgement and Beyond Group invites you to wear something orange to Liturgy next Sunday, September 29, in commemoration of this holiday.
