Greetings from Provincetown

How are you recharging your spirit these days?

Just a quick “hello” from one of my favorite places on the planet. We are lucky enough to be camping in Provincetown (PTown) this week. The weather is perfect – sunny and cool!

Morgan remembers the beach, the gulls, and the fact that the person in the entrance booth at the campground has biscuits! He also knows that almost all the shops on Commercial Street welcome dogs and reward him with, yes, you guessed it, more biscuits!

I’ve contented myself with breathing salt air and feeling sand between my toes. The water is too cold for me to swim, and the air isn’t warm enough for that anyway. However, PTown remains one of the most beautiful places on earth.

As we recharge with visits to places and  with people we love, I pray that you all will find ways to recharge yourselves with places of beauty and wonder, and by surrounding yourselves with love.

Feel free to comment with your favorite ways to renew your spirits as we all enjoy the last weeks of summer.

  1. Time with our New Zealand family – daughter Laurie, son-in-law Chris and grandchildren Cooper and Robbie! What a joy.

  2. Renew of my Spirit comes from my garden. Planting & designing is one thing but when it truly happens it the harvesting of it all. Tomatoes are the best when preparing BLT’s, and grilled cheese tomatoe sandwiches. Brandywine’s are the most tasteful. Small crop of Roma produced two pints of salsa with the sweet peppers & jalapeños spiced it up all canned up. Still more to can because I CAN. Cuks productions one or two at a time brings joy to the faces I give them away to. Only needing a dozen to make Bread&Butter pickles. Taking pride manicuring the weeds controlling the BEAUTY of it all. This renews my Spirt of Joy in what Mother Spirt of Earth gives me.

    • I just received a bowl full of fresh garden tomatoes from a friend in Madison. I can’t identify which variety is which, but there must be 5-6 different ones in the bowl including the little cherry-sized tomatoes and the larger ones for BLT sandwiches. I am grateful that my friend shares natures bounty and that I can truly enjoy even though I don’t have the full garden joy that you describe. I can look at the bowl, taste the fresh tomatoes, and imagine my friend stepping through her garden carefully gathering the fruit.
