Our theme for the month is “(Re)Considering Spirit” with the purpose of exploring our understanding of the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. The month will look something like this:

  • July 28 – Rev. Mimi Goodwin Preaches on the river of Creativity

My hope is that each of you will consider writing something or bringing a poem, a scripture passage, a piece of prose, an activity (meditative or otherwise) that you can share for any of the following:

  • Invoking Spirit
  • Acknowledging our Need for God
  • Reading for the day (in addition to the chosen scripture)
  • Prayer after Communion
  • Almost any other part of the service if inspiration stirs you

If you are a visual artist and are inspired to create Spirit themed artwork, please share it with the community. We can hang it in the sanctuary or use it in the music PowerPoint.

If you are a poet and are inspired to write Spirit themed poetry, please do and be prepared to share it on the Sunday of your choosing.

There’s no wrong way to do this. Let the Spirit move you and we’ll see how a reliance on the Spirit can shape our worship in a new way
