The Glory of God Still Shines

Transfiguration is a celebration of the Divine within us all before we get to Ash Wednesday.
We have arrived at the end of this lengthy Epiphany Season. I hope you have had moments of joy to sustain you as we slog through the uncertainty plaguing our nation. We have one more stop before Lent begins on Wednesday.
Transfiguration!
Transfiguration Sunday is one of my favorites. It provides us with the perfect day for reflecting on our divinity (and the divinity within all human beings), before we are vividly reminded of our humanity and finitude on Wednesday.
Wear something sparkly and join us on Sunday for a celebration of God’s glory shining through us all. It will be a joyful celebration, a deep breath before we begin our Lenten journey through the wilderness.
Our theme for Lent this year is “For Just Such a Time as This” and we are using some of the parables in Luke’s Gospel as guideposts along the way.
For the first time in a long time, I am actually looking forward to Lent. Navigating the wilderness, exposing the barren, wild places, and inviting God into the emptiness seem appropriate for our world situation.
I hope you will all join us for the journey this year. We need one another and the power of community to get us through.
In the meantime, you won’t want to miss the Internal Posts this week. To get to them, you must be logged in to the Living Table website. Then click the link at the bottom of the Dashboard. You’ve got this!
