We have a busy and exciting summer planned at Living Table; you won't want to miss any of it!

Summer is here and there’s no slowing down! We have lots of fun and adventurous things planned. You won’t want to miss out.

This week after worship is our Annual Meeting where we will come to consensus on a new Co-mod with much gratitude to Doug who has completed two consecutive terms. The meeting will be brief. Please plan to stay on Zoom or in the room.

On the 30th we will celebrate Pride in worship as is our custom. This is always a fun, engaging service. Plan to wear your Pride t-shirts and/or jewelry, and feel free to bring flags or other things to add to the festivities.

Then we come to July. As you know, July will be a month of experimentation for us. We won’t have any printed liturgy during worship and our services will focus on the Spirit. The music will still be projected so no need to worry about that. Everything else will be as the Spirit moves.

The important thing is that there will be an opportunity for any all to participate. Before this month ends, I will share a list of the specific themes for each Sunday in July. Then I will ask you all to think about what you could share for Invoking the Spirit and/or Acknowledging our Need for God.

You could choose your favorite Psalm or other scripture, poetry, prose, or a brief activity. There’s no wrong way to worship, especially in July this year!

I’m also asking you to think about what else you may want to try in July. Do we want to have a renewal of baptism one evening at a nearby lake? Do we want an evening vespers service with desserts? Do we want a potluck and conversation one night?

There’s no limit to what we could try together as we explore what shape worship could take. What are your ideas?

Also in July, Mimi Goodwin will be preaching on the 14th  and joining in Art Night later that week to highlight the role of creativity in worship and justice-making. If you’ve never been to Art Night before, July 18th would be the perfect time to check it out.

After we’ve made it through our experimental July, Sana will be back to cover my vacation in August. You won’t want to miss what she has to offer!

It’s promising to be a busy and exciting summer here at Living Table. I hope you’ll join in as much as you can.

In the meantime, I know that many of us are facing serious health concerns. Please let Congregational Care or me know if we can offer you support in any way. We will hold you all in prayer through the weeks ahead. We are together in this.
