Even if you missed Ed’s first workshop, you can attend the second:

Awakening Our Spiritual Qualities & Becoming Elders

on Thursday, January 25, at 6:30 pm on Zoom.

Elderhood is a time to discover our inner riches and share them with others. The cultivation of foundational spiritual qualities can aid us in meeting the challenges of aging and realizing our fullest potential as elders. These qualities enable us to come to peace with ourselves and others, foster connections, love more completely, and build resiliency. These and other qualities are consistent across many religious traditions and spiritual paths. In the next two workshops we will consider cultivating, as elders, the qualities of gratitude, generosity, patience, joy, and equanimity.

This workshop is being facilitated by Ed Colón, in continuation of the Wise Aging workshop begun in November. This workshop will be conducted on Zoom on Thursday, January 25th, at 6:30 PM. All participants are asked by the facilitator to have their camera on.

The Zoom link is in the usual place; just sign-in to access the dashboard. If you are not a member of Living Table and would like to attend this workshop, please email Pr. Rachael or contact us.

  1. I’m really looking forward to this; I read more about the contents that you wrote here and it sounds interesting and like an opportunity to grow.

  2. Many thanks to the 15 community members who participated in our discussion of the path of spiritual development in late life, and Gratitude, the first of the spiritual qualities we will talk about.

The handout for the session is posted on this website. It contains the book references as well as links to the videos.

Our next topic is Generosity, which I am hoping to do in February on Zoom. Stay tuned for the date.

Each of our paths in aging are both unique and also very similar. Sharing our thoughts and challenges in aging together is one of the blessings of community. Thank you!

    Ed
