On Monday, January 20, 2025, we will observe MLK Day and Trump will be inaugurated as president. The convergence of these events has caused some mixed feelings for many of us.

The good news is that some progressive Christian leaders have gotten together to do something in response. These leaders include Rev. Dr. Karen Georgia Thompson, the General Minister and President of the UCC, Bishop Yvette Flunder, and Bishop William J. Barber, II.

Here is the invitation from national office of the UCC:

Join us For Such A Time As This: Interfaith Service and Moral Mass Meeting.

January 20, 2025, is a time for people of faith, conscience, and good will to gather in worship, lifting a collective voice to be Prophetic, Pastoral, Prayerful, and in Protest. United, we will bear witness to this moment and affirm our unwavering commitment to justice, equity, and the dignity of all people.

In a time when our nation longs for justice, healing and unity, this event aims to center love and justice while challenging the divisive narratives that too often misrepresent the role of faith in public life.

We will gather on Zoom at 6 pm to share in this powerful gathering. The link is in the usual place.

Monday, January 20 at 6 pm, Zoom Watch Party
