The Land Acknowledgment and Beyond Group will begin another book discussion on Monday, June 10, on Zoom. The book is Braiding Sweetgrass by Potawatomi professor Robin Kimmerer, a botanist who discusses plants and the relationship between humans and land in Native American traditions.

Her writing combines her training in Western scientific methods and her Native American knowledge about sustainable land stewardship.

This book was chosen for the summer because it consists of essays, so readers can come to the discussion on months when it’s convenient without getting lost.

The discussions will be on June 10, July 8, August 12, and September 9 (7:00—8:30 pm). Note that this is the second Monday rather than the third.

Some of you have already read this fascinating book. If you would like to receive the link for the discussions, please let Ann know. If you need a book, we have some from Birchbark Books for $20.
