So what is Quilters?

Quilters is the story of a pioneer woman, Sarah, and her seven daughters as they face life in the American frontier. Rather than a straightforward storyline, the musical is presented as a series of beautiful tales and tableaux matched with musical numbers, each presenting an aspect of frontier life or womanhood. The patches or blocks show “girlhood, marriage, childbirth, spinsterhood, twisters, fire, illness, and death.” These patches are ultimately put together to form one dramatic musical tableau.

Please note – Due to some of the subject matter, this show is suggested for those 12 and older.

  1. We absolutely loved this production of “Quilters” when we saw it in March. The show was seamless. It is a lovely story and the musical theater students gave a most impressive performance.

  2. I saw this performance a few weeks ago at Perpich. The play is excellent. The actors are amazing and their voices are even better. I will be going again — it’s that good!
