Beacon invites all to participate on Zoom for this Day of Action on Monday, May 1, 2023.

Rent is Due Day of Action, Monday, May 1st at 8:30 AM
Please join us for the last “Rent is Due: Day of Action” of the legislative session on Monday, May 1!
Some exciting things won’t happen unless we advocate for them. The House bill (that was just voted on last night, April 19th!) contains the beginning of the Bring it Home, Minnesota program, creating 7,000 new vouchers statewide. The Senate housing bill contains investments in supportive housing, and both support robust investment in housing bonds. We need to make sure the strongest investments in housing – including for Bring it Home, Minnesota – are passed between now and the end of the session!
We are in the final weeks where our voices can really make a difference. Join us for Rent is Due to hear an update on it all and the actions you can take.

This announcement is good news for all of us who sent emails, made phone calls and showed up for Beacon events the past few years. It has been a long haul and if this legislation passes, it will be a big first step and should encourage us to stay the course in the coming years until we get full funding for Bring It Home MN. Thank all of you for helping Beacon in their battle for affordable housing for all.
