Grand Re-Opening of the Newly Renovated Minneapolis American Indian Center  Wednesday, May 1, 2024

The Minneapolis American Indian Center (1530 E. Franklin Ave) has been closed for renovations since 2022. It will re-open with several events on May 1. These events offer an opportunity for New Branches members to meet and celebrate with our Native neighbors. The LAB Team urges everyone to take advantage of this chance to see the new space and/or watch a powwow.

American Indian Month Kick-Off Parade

Starts at 10:00 am from Cedar Avenue Field Park, 2500 Cedar Ave. Arrives at the Center at 11:30. Carpool from New Branches at 9:00.

Open House at the Center

11:30 – Ribbon-cutting ceremony
12 – 2 – Tour the center with staff, food trucks and Gatherings Cafe available for lunch, and entertainment in the gym. Carpool from New Branches at 10:30.

Powwow

5 – 7:30 – Grand Entry at 6. Carpool from New Branches at 4.
