Book Study Starting Soon!

The LAB’s second Book Discussion selection is The Seed Keeper, by Minnesota author Diane Wilson, a beautifully told  story of a Native girl/woman who was removed from her home and culture and is on a journey back. The book also weaves in facts surrounding her “Dakota family’s struggle to preserve their way of life, and their sacrifices to protect what matters most.” The LAB looks forward to learning and discussing this with you – even, and especially, if you have read it before.

The LAB Book Study will meet on Monday, April 15 at 7 pm via Zoom to discuss Chapters 1-16 (pages 1-179). Please plan to join and spread the word to people who might also enjoy this opportunity! All are welcome! The link is in the usual place.

Books – purchased from Birchbark Books – will be available for purchase ($19) and a Zoom link sign up sheet will be available in the Commons on the next two Sundays.

Save the Date!

The Minneapolis American Indian Center, which has been closed for renovations since 2022, is inviting the public to a parade, open house and powwow to explore the upgraded center and celebrate its reopening on Wednesday, May 1.

Check It Out!

The March edition of the Circle News has arrived! Copies are available to read in the New Branches Library. You can also pick up a copy in the Commons (near the large News Screen) to take home, read and pass along.

If you will not be at New Branches this month and would like to have a copy sent to you, please contact Sally E (Spirit).
